It wasn’t public accounting that first drew the attention of Taylor Mathews. Straight out of college Taylor went to work in the oil & gas business.
“It wasn’t always my dream to be an ‘accountant,’ remembers Taylor, “I wasn’t really sure what direction to take my accounting degree.”
In the oil and gas field, Taylor found his niche quickly, becoming a CFO for his company. Taylor’s experience in the oil and gas industry includes contract negotiation, regulatory reporting, cash flow and budget forecasting, joint interest billing, and accounting department oversight. But when his company was sold, he began looking at other options.
“I had been working with Bob Peddy and his team when our company sold,” says Taylor, “I reached out to Bob and, shortly thereafter, I was on staff at GMP.”
Today Taylor serves two roles here at GMP. First, as the firm’s Managing Partner, second as a CFO Advisor. Taylor’s experience makes him uniquely qualified to provide accounting and financial consultation to a wide range of businesses.
Out of the office Taylor is an avid outdoorsman. He loves to golf and watch college football, especially his alma mater, Baylor Bears!
